Makara Sankranthi will be celebrated on Sunday 15th January 2012. This is a big event in the Telugu Calendar and will be celebrated grandly at the New Central Club with various cultural songs and other performances. The celebrations will start with pooja’s performed at the temple from 11am, where our distinguished guests, The Mayor, Councillors & MP Mark Hendrick will attend
The afternoon programmes will then commence from 12pm at the New Central Club, St Mary’s Street North, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 5LP. This will start with a 25 minute speech from our distinguished guests followed meals. Entertainment will start shortly after and include dance, songs as well as a children’s performance. Telugu Musical Party: Kalyani vari Group.
Kalyani is a Computer systems Validation Specialist in the Pharmaceutical Industry and a Professional Singer in United Kingdom.
Impressive Telugu Drama: (Sankranthi Sambralu)
Arranged by MATA, Dr J. Satyanarayana Murthi Garu will be performing throughout the programme including comedy through his poetry.
Maata President Bhimanna Pulla Garu will also be performing comedy.
TCA Youngsters
The event is open to children of the Telugu Community members to perform a dance routine. These include:-

Anjani, Krishnaveni, Lakshmi, Vara Group Dance

Raffle tickets will be available on the day.
